Terms of service
These terms apply when you use MabelStack. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use Mabel on behalf of a business or client, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for them.
The service
Mabel lets you connect a Git repository for a static site, give people you invite a place to edit content and data files, and receive form submissions. Each change made in Mabel is saved as a commit to your repository. We may improve, change or remove features over time, and will try to give notice of changes that significantly affect you.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account, including activity by editors you invite.
- You choose who has access to each site and can remove them at any time.
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Your repository and content
Your repository, files and content belong to you (or to whoever owned them before you used Mabel). We do not claim ownership of them. You give us permission to access, read, write and store them only as needed to provide the service, for example to commit an edit or show a form submission.
Because the files live in your repository, they remain with you if you stop using Mabel.
Form submissions
If you add a Mabel form to a site, you are responsible for what it collects and for how you use that information, including telling visitors what you do with it and following the privacy laws that apply to you. We process submissions on your behalf as described in our privacy policy.
Plans and payment
- Mabel is priced per site. Each site has its own plan: Free, Pro or Power.
- The features and limits of each plan, such as editors, monthly form submissions, retention and file uploads, are shown on our pricing section and apply to that site.
- Paid plans are billed per site, per month, in advance, at the price shown when you choose the plan.
- You can change or cancel a site’s plan at any time. Changes take effect as described when you make them.
- If a site goes over its plan limits, we may ask you to upgrade or may limit the affected feature.
- We will tell you before changing prices, and the change will apply from your next billing period.
Acceptable use
You must not use Mabel to:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- send spam, or collect information from people unlawfully;
- upload or distribute malware, or content that is abusive or unlawful;
- attack, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or other people’s data; or
- resell or misrepresent the service in a way we have not agreed to.
We may suspend or restrict an account or site that breaks these rules or puts the service or others at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Mabel running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. Because your content lives in your repository, an interruption to Mabel does not remove your files.
Ending your use
You can stop using Mabel and delete a site or your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the service. When an account ends, we delete or anonymise the information we hold in line with our privacy policy and the retention period for your plan.
Liability
Mabel is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and tell account holders by email. Continuing to use Mabel after a change means you accept the updated terms.
